Dichotomy of Life

2016

All objects are linked to some aspects of growth and life, isolated events under personal fears and accomplishments all while safely housed in their own environments.  Though each is an isolated event or feeling, they are all connected, even though they are separate.  A space untouched by outside elements, the object remains intact, and resonates in the space.

A lemon and a half,  the beginning of a love for things unloved.  When life gives you lemons, make the best out of the situation.  When things end on a sour note, you can always think back to where you were and where you are now.  1 ½ lemons is all about knowing that the hardships you’ve endured will end up whole again.  However in the world of accomplishments, whether they are personal or professional the challenge in the industry is taxing.  A bell pepper is a satire on the pumpkin craze, and can be seen as the means to keep yourself afloat when no one else is looking to purchase your other work.  It's tedious and over done.  The pumpkin is the good the bad and the ugly as the act of doing so is silly, well known, and a true object of frustration and awe.  If you work in the industry of glass, you know that pumpkins may be a mandatory requirement in order to stay afloat, but they might beat you down and break you, just like the many pumpkins you produced in a day, only to be hiding in your closet collecting dust, because everyone already owns pumpkins.

Tucked away in the darkness of space, remains a jar, where like in the Schrödinger’s Cat experiment, we don’t know if anything is in the box or not.  The point is to not disturb the experiment in any way for fear that the experiment would become ruined.    It does not matter if something exists within the jar.  All we know is nothing at all, and that’s what matters, the mystery of not knowing who we will become, and remembering who we were.  The growth of the artist rests on the decision to keep on moving.  What we do know is that if with time and patience, with alittle effort, the secret will be revealed in due time.  The silver lining shines bright a the focal point of beauty when nothing else exists.

So now, imagine a place in your mind, where you hold memories, both good and bad.  Now single those out and you have an isolated space where the only thing on your mind is that memory.  It has color, it may shine as bright as the sun, or as dim as a candle flame, but the memory is strong, just like the growth that the memory instilled in you.
